MPN membership information is for the PERSONAL use of MPN members only. Use of the list for commercial or fundraising purposes in mailings, telesales programs, and the like is strictly prohibited.
Please complete all fields on this form. The information you list here — and any further information you provide when you get your new job (hopefully soon!) — will be distributed to other MPN members either in printed form, at an MPN meeting or event, for example, or in the online Directory, which is accessible to MPN members only.
Phone Number: Please list one of the phone numbers requested. However, we ask for both your Home/Office number and your Cell number in case the Facilitator needs to get in touch with you pronto.
Home Address: Your City or Town will be listed in the online Directory, but your street address will not be. By listing your city or town, you show people your approximate geographic area for new positions that they may have identified for you. Your street address is requested for possible future mailings on behalf of MPN.
Education/College Degrees: The reason we ask for this information is that other MPNers may see it and realize that they went to the same schools giving them a commonality with you…and possibly giving you a jump start on a job lead.
Previous Companies: The reason we ask for as many previous companies as we do is so that other members who might be interested in a job at one of those companies can contact you for information about the workplace, culture and, possibly, a contact there. In addition, these company names will give others a better idea of your career trajectory.
Position Sought/Métier: Métier is a word derived from French that literally means, “A field of work in which one has a special ability or training for; or forte.” In other words, it’s a fancy word for your area(s) of expertise! Please be as specific as you can by starting with a job title, then functional responsibilities and areas of specialization; and then target industries and sectors. For example:
• VP/Dir. of Marketing; B2C, packaged goods; e-commerce;
• Marcom Manager; lead gen, event planning; high tech, medical devices
MPN Code of Conduct: You are expected to treat others in the group with respect, to contribute constructively to the group, and to adhere to the MPN Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in your loss of membership privileges. Furthermore, frequent unwanted phone calls, e-mails and other communications to other members are not acceptable.
If you are concerned about your privacy despite the protections of the MPN Code of Conduct, do not check the box at the bottom of the Registration Form. Remember, though, that this will make it much more difficult for people to contact you if they have seen a job lead for you. In many ways it defeats the purpose of a networking group such as MPN.
